Aroma Versus Flavor. The Nose Never Lies

Sometimes the first thing you wake up to in the morning is the smell of coffee. But when you got to drink that cup of aromatic coffee, it tastes like something bitter. Our nose can trick us into thinking something is going to taste good just because it smells good. Smells can be deceiving in so many ways. The smell of a cake in the oven can make you want to cut into the first piece, only to find that the cake has no sugar in it and is flat.Additional information can be found at http://www.everydayhealth.com/allergy-specialist/lost-sense-of-smell.aspx. If you hold your nose and can-t smell what you are putting in your mouth, then chances are you won-t be able to taste it. Your nose aids in how you taste foods. On the other hand, if you smell something that is not appealing, it may actually taste fairly good. Your nose can inform you of what you should and should not eat. In most cases, it is reliable and you can trust it. Another good example of how the nose is nice to us is when you are cooking a roast. The aroma that comes from the cock pot or oven is consistent with the taste of the food. So if something smells good, then most of the time it will be good to eat.
